Professor
Jayasankar is an architect urbanist with 37 years of experience.
He graduated from CET, Trivandrum in 1987, pursued post-graduation from VINIT Nagpur in 1993 with a GATE scholarship, and obtained an M. Phil in Futures Studies from Gandhigram Rural Institute in Dindigul in 1997. Starting his career as a junior architect in Ar. Ramesh Tharakan’s office, he joined the Marathwada
Institute of Technology, Aurangabad as a lecturer and worked there for three years. Then, Jayasankar started his architectural practice in Thiruvananthapuram and ran it for 10 years. After that, he joined the Kerala State Municipal Common Service as an urban manager. Post a sabbatical leave from service for two years, he joined Hawassa University, Ethiopia. Finally, after retiring for four years, he worked as a professor and principal of Mangalam School of Architecture and Planning, Kottayam and recently, joined CAT as a Professor.
